Before You Start

You need access to Child Safety and Reportable Conduct.

Reportable Conduct is used to manage reportable conduct scheme matters and statutory reporting obligations. Cases appear here once they have been created.

Open Reportable Conduct

From the left sidebar, open Child Safety.

Select Reportable Conduct.

This opens the main Reportable Conduct page.

Review the Reportable Conduct page

The page shows all reportable conduct cases and their key details.

At the top, you will see the page title Reportable Conduct and the description:

Manage reportable conduct scheme matters and statutory reporting obligations.

Below this, you will see the case tabs, search field, risk filter, and New Case button.

Use the case tabs

Use the tabs to view cases by status or register type.

Available tabs include:

  • All Cases

  • Active

  • Action Required

  • Closed

  • Drafts

  • RCS Register

  • NDIS Register

Use All Cases to view every case.

Use Active to focus on current matters.

Use Action Required to review cases that need attention.

Use Closed to view completed cases.

Use Drafts to find cases that have not been opened yet.

Use RCS Register and NDIS Register to view register-specific records.

Search for a case

Use the Filter cases search field to search for a case.

You can search by details such as:

  • Case ID

  • Matter title

  • Participant

  • Staff member

  • Assigned person

This helps you quickly locate a specific reportable conduct matter.

Filter by risk

Use the Risk dropdown to filter cases by risk level.

The default view may show All Risks.

Use this filter when you want to focus on cases with a specific risk level, such as medium or high risk.

Review the case table

The case table shows a summary of each case.

Columns may include:

  • Case ID

  • Matter

  • Status

  • Risk

  • Aware Date

  • Initial Due

  • Assigned To

  • Updated

Use the table to check each case’s status, risk, due dates, assigned person, and last update.

Open a case

Select a case row to open the RCS Case Workspace.

The case workspace gives you more detailed information about the matter, including case details, people and location, allegation summary, actions taken, description, files, notes, reports, and audit history.

Create a new case

Select New Case to create a new reportable conduct matter.

If no cases exist yet, you may also see Create first case.

This opens the New Reportable Conduct Matter workflow.

The creation workflow includes:

  • Matter details

  • Involved parties

  • Response actions

Required fields are marked with an asterisk.

Important Notes

  • The Aware Date is important because statutory deadlines are calculated from the date the organisation became aware of the matter.

  • Cases may move through different statuses, such as Draft, Open, Under Review, Initial Report Due, Final Pending, Closed, or Non Reportable.

  • The Initial Due date helps users track reporting obligations.

  • Use the Action Required tab to focus on cases that need follow-up.

  • Closed cases remain visible under the Closed tab.

Troubleshooting

  • If you cannot see Reportable Conduct, check your Child Safety permissions.

  • If a case does not appear, check the active tab, search field, and risk filter.

  • If a case is missing from Active, check whether it is in Drafts, Closed, or another status tab.

  • If the New Case button is unavailable, you may not have permission to create reportable conduct cases.

  • If due dates look incorrect, review the case’s Aware Date.
