Manage Improvement Status and Assignees

Learn how to update an improvement’s status, manage assignees, and review ownership and timing details.

Open Improvements

From the left navigation menu, go to Operations.

Click Improvements.

The Improvements page will open.

Find the Improvement

Use the status tabs to locate the improvement.

Available tabs include:

  • All

  • Active

  • Complete

  • Archived

You can also use the Filter improvements search field to search by the improvement name.

Click the improvement row to open the details page.

Review the Improvement Details

The improvement details page shows the improvement name, who raised it, and the date and time it was raised.

The page includes:

  • Description

  • Application Feed

  • Details panel

Use the Description section to review what the improvement is about and how it will be addressed.

This section may include:

  • Details

  • Strategies

Review the Details Panel

The Details panel shows the current ownership and timing information for the improvement.

This may include:

  • Status

  • Raised By

  • Target Date

  • Assignees

Use this panel to confirm who raised the improvement, when it is due, who is assigned, and the current status.

Update the Status

In the Details panel, click the Status dropdown.

Choose the correct status.

Available statuses include:

  • Active

  • Complete

  • Archived

Use Active when the improvement is still in progress.

Use Complete when the improvement has been finished.

Use Archived when the improvement should no longer appear as active but should remain stored for reference.

After changing the status, review the page to confirm the new status is shown.

Update Assignees

In the Details panel, click the Assignees dropdown.

Select the staff members who should be responsible for the improvement.

You can select one or more assignees.

Use this field to keep ownership clear as the improvement progresses.

Review the Application Feed

The Application Feed shows the activity history for the improvement.

The feed may show updates such as:

  • Who submitted the improvement

  • Status changes

  • Archive actions

  • Comments

  • Updates made by staff

Use the feed to understand what has happened and when.

Check the List View

After updating the status, return to the Improvements page.

Use the status tabs to confirm the improvement appears in the correct list.

For example:

  • Active for active improvements

  • Complete for completed improvements

  • Archived for archived improvements

Important Notes

  • The Status field controls where the improvement appears in the Improvements list.

  • Active means the improvement is still being worked on.

  • Complete means the improvement has been finished.

  • Archived removes the improvement from active tracking but keeps it stored.

  • The Target Date helps track whether the improvement is overdue.

  • The Assignees field should be kept up to date so responsibility is clear.

  • The Application Feed records key activity and comments.

Troubleshooting

If you cannot change the status:

  • Confirm you have permission to update improvements.

  • Refresh the page and try again.

  • Ask an administrator to review your role permissions.

If the improvement appears in the wrong tab:

  • Open the improvement details page.

  • Check the selected Status.

  • Return to the Improvements page and refresh the list.

  • Check the All, Active, Complete, and Archived tabs.

If assignees are not appearing:

  • Confirm the staff member exists in the system.

  • Check that the staff member is active.

  • Search again in the Assignees dropdown.

  • Ask an administrator to review staff access if needed.

If the target date shows Elapsed:

  • Review the target date and current status.

  • Update the status if the improvement has been completed.

  • Update the assignees or action plan if further work is required.

If changes are not reflected immediately:

  • Refresh the page.

  • Reopen the improvement details page.

  • Check the Application Feed for recent updates.
