Interaction Types Configuration

Learn how to view, add, archive, and restore NDIS interaction types used across the platform.

Written by Windolyn Cortes

Open Interaction Types

From the left navigation menu, click Admin.

At the top of the Admin page, click Configuration.

In the left-side configuration menu, click Invoicing, then select Interaction Types.

This opens the Interaction Types configuration page.

Review Active Types

The Active Types section shows interaction types that are currently available for use across the platform.

If no active interaction types have been created, the page will show:

No active interaction types.

Active interaction types can be used in relevant NDIS, invoicing, or service workflows, depending on your organisation’s setup.

Review Archived Types

The Archived Types section shows interaction types that have been hidden without being deleted.

If no archived interaction types exist, the page will show:

No archived interaction types.

Archived types can be restored if they need to be made available again.

Add a New Interaction Type

Click Add Type in the Active Types section.

The Add Interaction Type window will open.

Enter the interaction type name in the Interaction Type Name field.

Example:

Support Coordination

Click Add Type to create the interaction type.

Click Cancel if you do not want to continue.

Archive an Interaction Type

If an interaction type is no longer needed, archive it instead of deleting it.

Archived interaction types are hidden from active use but remain available in the Archived Types section.

Use this when an interaction type should no longer be selected for new records but may still be needed for historical reference.

Restore an Archived Interaction Type

To make an archived interaction type available again, go to the Archived Types section.

Restore the archived type to move it back into the active list.

Once restored, the interaction type becomes available for use again.

Important Notes

  • Active Types are available for use across the platform.

  • Archived Types are hidden without being permanently deleted.

  • Use clear and recognisable names for interaction types.

  • Avoid creating duplicate interaction types with similar names.

  • Archive interaction types when they should no longer be used.

  • Restore archived types if they need to become available again.

  • The Add Type button may stay disabled until a valid name is entered.

Troubleshooting

If you cannot add an interaction type:

  • Make sure the Interaction Type Name field is completed.

  • Check that the name is clear and not duplicated.

  • Refresh the page and try again.

  • Ask an administrator to review your permissions.

If an interaction type is missing:

  • Check the Active Types section.

  • Check the Archived Types section.

  • Search the configuration page if needed.

  • Ask an administrator if the type may have been archived.

If the Add Type button is disabled:

  • Confirm that a name has been entered.

  • Check for extra spaces or invalid formatting.

  • Try a shorter, clearer name.
