Hide & Show a Cora Chat Message

Cora Chat allows authorised users to hide or show messages within a channel. This is helpful for managing sensitive or inappropriate content without fully deleting it.

Note: Only messages created after 17/10/2023 can be hidden.

To get started, open the Cora Chat tab in the navigation bar and select the channel containing the message you want to manage.

Hiding a Message

Locate the message you want to hide. Messages that can be hidden will appear with normal (non-transparent) styling.
Click the Hide icon. Once hidden, the message becomes partially transparent, indicating that it is no longer visible to standard users.
For users who don’t have permission to view hidden messages, the message will only show the sender’s icon—its content will not be displayed.

Showing a Message

To reveal a message again, find the partially transparent hidden message and click the Show icon. The message will return to full visibility for users with the required permission.
