For staff members: Use this article to view available shifts, submit a bid, withdraw your own bid, and check the status of your own shift bids.

Managers and administrators should use the How to Manage Shift Bids in Diversity Sync’d article to review, approve, decline, assign, or manage shift bids.

What is Shift Bidding?

Shift Bidding lets you express interest in available shifts that your organisation has opened for bidding.

You can use Shift Bidding to:

  • View available shifts

  • Review shift details before submitting a bid

  • Submit a bid for a shift

  • Withdraw your own bid before it is reviewed

  • Check whether your bid is pending, approved, declined, or withdrawn

Your manager or administrator reviews bids and confirms whether the shift is assigned to you.

Open Shift Bidding

  1. Go to the Roster page.

  2. Select Options.

  3. Select Shift Bidding.

The Shift Bidding page shows available shifts that are open for staff bids.

Review available shifts

Use the Shift Bidding page to review shifts that are open for bidding.

You may be able to filter or search by:

  • Date

  • Week

  • Fortnight

  • Shift type

  • Role

  • Site

  • Number of bids

Select a shift to view its available details.

Open a shift

  1. Find the shift you want to review.

  2. Select the shift row.

  3. Review the details shown on the right side of the page.

The available details may include:

  • Shift date

  • Start and finish time

  • Site

  • Role

  • Shift notes

  • Required skills or qualifications

  • Number of available places

  • Current bid status

Review the details carefully before submitting a bid.

Submit your bid

  1. Open the shift you want to bid on.

  2. Review the shift details.

  3. Select Bid or Submit Bid.

  4. Confirm the bid if prompted.

After submitting your bid, return to Shift Bidding to check its status.

Check your bid status

After you submit a bid, return to Shift Bidding to check its status.

Your bid may show one of these statuses:

  • Pending: Your bid is waiting for review.

  • Approved: Your bid has been accepted.

  • Declined: Your bid was not accepted.

  • Withdrawn: You cancelled your bid before it was reviewed.

If your bid is approved, check your roster for the updated shift details.

If your bid is declined or remains pending, contact your manager if you need more information.

Withdraw your bid

You may be able to withdraw a bid while it is still pending.

  1. Open Shift Bidding.

  2. Find the shift you submitted a bid for.

  3. Open the shift details.

  4. Select Withdraw bid.

  5. Confirm the withdrawal if prompted.

Once withdrawn, your bid will no longer be considered unless you submit a new bid, if the shift is still available.

Important Notes

  • Submitting a bid does not guarantee that the shift will be assigned to you.

  • Your manager or administrator reviews bids before assigning staff.

  • A shift may no longer be available if it has already been filled, withdrawn, or closed.

  • You may only be able to bid on shifts that match your role, permissions, qualifications, or organisation settings.

  • Check the shift date, time, site, and role carefully before submitting a bid.

  • If your bid is approved, review your roster to confirm the final shift details.

Troubleshooting

The Shift Bidding option is not visible

Check that you have access to shift bidding in your organisation.

If the option is still not available, contact your manager or administrator.

No shifts are available for bidding

Try the following:

  • Check the selected date range.

  • Switch between Day, Week, and Fortnight.

  • Confirm there are shifts currently open for bidding.

  • Refresh the page and try again.

If no shifts appear, contact your manager to confirm whether any shifts are available.

I cannot submit a bid

Check that:

  • You selected an available shift.

  • The shift is still open for bidding.

  • You meet any role, qualification, or permission requirements.

  • You completed any required fields.

If you still cannot submit a bid, contact your manager or administrator.

My bid is still pending

Your bid may still be waiting for review.

Contact your manager if you need an update about the shift.

My bid was declined

A declined bid means the shift was not assigned to you.

Check whether other shifts are available for bidding. Contact your manager if you need more information.

The shift is no longer available

The shift may have been assigned, withdrawn, cancelled, or closed for bidding.

Return to the Shift Bidding page to check whether other shifts are available.
