Clock On, Start Breaks, and Clock Off from the Dashboard

Learn how staff can clock on, start and finish breaks, clock off, submit checklist confirmations, and review clock activity from the Dashboard.

Open the Dashboard

From the left menu, select Dashboard.

The Dashboard shows your upcoming Shifts, completed shifts, announcements, and the clock action button.

Staff can use the clock action button to:

  • Clock On

  • Clock Off

  • Break Start

  • View Pending Shift

  • View Activity

Open the clock action menu

At the top right of the shift area, select the Clock On button or the dropdown arrow.

A menu will open with the available clock actions.

Select Clock On to begin your shift.

Confirm GPS and review the clock on checklist

After selecting Clock On, a clock on window opens.

The system may show your current location on the map and display GPS locked when your location is detected.

Before starting work, complete the required Shift Checklist items. These may include:

  • Fit for work confirmation

  • Shift details reviewed

  • Participant notes checked

  • Required PPE and equipment ready

  • Incident reporting understood

Tick each required checklist item, then select Start work.

Submit extra time approval if required

If you clock on outside the expected rostered time, the system may show Extra time requires approval.

Review the message carefully. You may need to enter a Reason before submitting.

Select Submit for approval.

If you are clocking on without a restored shift, tick Clocking on without a restored shift?. The system will show a warning that no restored shift will be linked.

Select Clock on without restored shift to continue.

After submitting, a success message confirms that you have been clocked on and the extra time has been submitted for approval.

Start a break

When you are clocked on, the main clock button changes to Clock Off.

Open the dropdown menu and select Break Start.

The break window will show your current work timer and GPS status. Select Start break.

Once the break starts, the system shows:

  • Clock on elapsed

  • Break elapsed

  • On break status

A reminder may also appear confirming that you are currently on a break.

Finish a break

When you are ready to return to work, select End break or Finish break.

A success message confirms that your break has ended.

Clock off at the end of your shift

Open the clock action dropdown and select Clock Off.

The clock off window opens with your current work timer, GPS status, and clock off checklist.

Complete the required Shift Checklist items before ending work. These may include:

  • Complete Shift Notes

  • Submit Incident Reports

  • Clean Work Area

  • Confirm Task Completion

  • Lock and Secure Premises

  • Submit Mileage Log

  • Check Upcoming Schedule

Add any required Shift Notes.

Do not include client names or addresses in your notes.

Select Confirm end work.

A success message confirms that you have been clocked off.

Review clock activity

To view recent clock history, open the clock action dropdown and select Activity.

The Clock activity window shows your recent clock events, including:

  • Total events

  • Total time worked

  • Total break time

  • Clock on and clock off times

  • Break start and break end times

  • Pending extra time status

Select Close when finished.

Important Notes

  • You may need to allow browser location access so the system can confirm GPS locked.

  • Some clock actions require checklist items to be completed before you can continue.

  • Extra time may require manager approval when clocking on early, late, or outside the rostered time.

  • If you clock on without a restored shift, the clock event may not be linked to a rostered shift.

  • Keep shift notes professional and avoid including client names, addresses, or sensitive personal details.

  • The available options may change depending on your current clock status. For example, Break Start appears after clocking on.

Troubleshooting

If you cannot clock on:

  • Check that your device has internet access.

  • Allow location permission in your browser.

  • Refresh the page and try again.

  • Confirm that you are using the correct staff account.

  • Check whether your shift is visible under Shifts.

If GPS does not lock:

  • Make sure location services are enabled on your device.

  • Allow location access for the browser.

  • Move to an area with a better signal.

  • Refresh the page and reopen the clock action.

If extra time approval appears unexpectedly:

  • Check your rostered shift time.

  • Add a clear reason in the Reason field.

  • Submit the request for manager review.

  • Contact your manager if the rostered time is incorrect.

If you cannot clock off:

  • Complete all required clock off checklist items.

  • Add shift notes if required.

  • Confirm any incident reports or mileage logs have been submitted.

  • Refresh the page and try again.
