Written by Windolyn Cortes

Before You Start

You need access to the Admin area to manage notifications.

Required permissions may include:

  • Access to Admin

  • Permission to view Notifications

  • Permission to send company-wide broadcasts

  • Permission to review previous broadcasts

If you cannot see the Notifications tab or the Send broadcast button, ask an administrator to check your role permissions.

Go to Admin

From the left navigation menu, click Admin.

At the top of the Admin page, click Notifications.

The Notifications page is used to send and review company-wide notifications.

Review the Notifications Page

The Notifications page shows company-wide broadcasts sent to staff.

Broadcasts can appear in:

  • Each staff member’s notification bell

  • The /notifications page

  • A toast notification for critical events, even if staff have muted the channel

If no broadcasts have been sent yet, the page will show:

No broadcasts sent yet

You can send your first broadcast by clicking Send your first broadcast or Send broadcast.

Search Broadcasts

Use the Search broadcasts field to find an existing broadcast.

This is helpful when you need to review a previous message or find a broadcast by title or content.

Filter by Severity

Use the severity dropdown to filter broadcasts.

Available options:

  • All severities

  • Info

  • Warning

  • Critical

Use this filter when you only want to view broadcasts with a specific importance level.

Screenshot recommended: Show the severity dropdown open with all severity options visible.

Create a New Broadcast

Click Send broadcast.

A New broadcast modal will open.

This modal shows who the broadcast will notify. In the example, it says the broadcast will notify every active staff member and will be sent from the logged-in user.

Add the Broadcast Details

Complete the following fields:

Title

Enter a short title for the broadcast.

The title has a 200 character limit.

Message

Enter the main broadcast message.

The message has a 4000 character limit.

Severity

Choose the importance level of the broadcast.

Available severity options:

  • Informational

  • Warning

  • Critical

Optional Link

Add a link if staff should open a specific page or external resource.

Examples:

Leave this blank if the broadcast does not need to be clickable.

Review and Send

After completing the required fields, click Review & send.

If the button is disabled, check that all required fields have been completed correctly.

Use Cancel if you do not want to continue.

Important Notes

  • Broadcasts are sent to active staff members.

  • Critical broadcasts may appear as toast notifications even when staff have muted the channel.

  • Use the Optional Link field only when the broadcast should take staff to a page or resource.

  • Keep broadcast titles short and clear.

  • Choose the correct severity so staff understand how important the message is.

Troubleshooting

If you cannot send a broadcast:

  • Check that you have access to Admin > Notifications.

  • Confirm that your role allows you to send broadcasts.

  • Make sure the Title and Message fields are completed.

  • Check that the title and message are within the character limits.

  • Refresh the page and try again.

If staff did not receive the broadcast:

  • Confirm that they are active staff members.

  • Check whether the broadcast was sent successfully.

  • Ask the user to check their notification bell or /notifications page.

  • For urgent updates, consider using Critical severity.
