Open AI Configuration
From the left navigation menu, click Admin.
At the top of the Admin page, click Configuration.
In the left-side configuration menu, click AI.
This opens the AI configuration page.
Review AI Features
The AI Features section lets you enable or disable AI-powered features for your organisation.
The main setting shown is:
Enable AI Globally
Use this toggle to enable AI across the organisation.
The page notes that AI is currently only available in shift note timelines.
Enable AI Globally
Turn on Enable AI Globally if your organisation wants to use AI-powered features.
After changing the toggle, click Save.
If you do not want AI features available, leave the toggle off or turn it off, then click Save.
Review DS AI Usage and Pricing
The DS AI Usage & Pricing section explains how DS AI is billed.
DS AI is billed based on usage. Each conversation, suggestion, or insight contributes to a single DS AI line on your monthly invoice.
The page shows these billing details:

The cap shown is $500 / org.Billing
DS AI is charged with your existing subscription as one monthly DS AI line.
The page also notes that costs scale based on how much AI is used.
Understand What DS AI Includes
The What DS AI Includes section lists the AI tools available or planned within the platform.
Items shown include:
Roster Assistant
Natural-language chat for building, fixing, and explaining rosters.Shift Builder
Describe a week and get a draft roster.Roster Health narratives
Plain-English summaries explaining why a roster scored what it did.Candidate explanations
Explains why a particular staff member is suggested for a shift.
The page also notes that DS AI uses smart caching automatically, so repeated questions and similar prompts may cost less than a fresh request.
Review Usage Policies
Before enabling AI, review the linked AI Usage Policy and Terms of Service.
By enabling DS AI, your organisation agrees to these terms.
If you are unsure whether AI should be enabled for your organisation, confirm with an administrator or decision-maker first.
Important Notes
Enable AI Globally controls whether AI features are available for the organisation.
AI may currently only be available in shift note timelines.
DS AI is billed based on usage.
Usage contributes to a monthly DS AI line item on the invoice.
The monthly cap shown is $500 / org.
Contact support if your organisation needs to raise the cap.
Review the AI Usage Policy and Terms of Service before enabling AI.
Click Save after changing the AI setting.
Troubleshooting
If the AI toggle is not visible:
Confirm you are in Admin > Configuration > AI.
Check your role permissions.
Ask an administrator to confirm that you can manage AI settings.
If AI features do not appear after enabling:
Make sure Enable AI Globally is turned on.
Click Save after enabling the toggle.
Refresh the page and try again.
Check whether the feature is available in the area you are using.
If AI usage or billing is unclear:
Review Admin > Billing > AI Credits if available.
Check your monthly invoice for the DS AI line item.
Review the AI Usage Policy.
Contact support if you need help understanding usage or caps.
If the organisation reaches the monthly cap:
AI features may pause until the cap resets or is increased.
Contact support if your organisation needs a higher cap.
