Customise Your Layout

Learn how to customise your app layout, sidebar, font size, cursor behaviour, title font, and interface theme.

Written by Windolyn Cortes

Open Layout Settings

Click your profile menu from the bottom-left corner of the app.

Open Profile.

At the top of the Profile page, click Layout.

This opens the layout settings page.

Review Interface and Theme Settings

The Interface and theme section controls how the app looks and feels for you.

Changes apply instantly across every page.

This section includes:

  • App sidebar

  • Font size

  • Use pointer cursors

  • Use Ovo for titles

Customise the App Sidebar

In the App sidebar row, click Customize.

The Customize sidebar window will open.

From this window, you can choose which sidebar items appear and how they are ordered.

Sidebar sections may include:

  • General

  • Operations

  • People & Places

  • Finance & Admin

Each sidebar item has a visibility dropdown, such as Show.

You can also use the drag handle beside each item to reorder items in the sidebar.

Choose Sidebar Item Visibility

In the Customize sidebar window, use the dropdown beside each item to choose whether it should appear in your sidebar.

For example, you can show or hide items such as:

  • Onboarding

  • Dashboard

  • Roster

  • Registers

  • Shift Notes

  • Storage

  • Cora Chat

  • Leave

  • Improvements

  • Staff

  • Participants

  • Sites

  • Finance

  • Invoicing

  • Reports

  • Child Safety

  • Admin

Use this to keep your sidebar focused on the pages you use most often.

Change Font Size

In the Font size row, open the dropdown.

Choose one of the available options:

  • Small

  • Default

  • Large

The selected font size changes the size of text across the app.

Enable or Disable Pointer Cursors

Use the Use pointer cursors toggle to change the cursor style when hovering over interactive elements.

Turn this on if you prefer the cursor to change to a pointer when hovering over buttons, links, and clickable items.

Turn it off if you prefer the default cursor behaviour.

Enable or Disable Ovo for Titles

Use the Use Ovo for titles toggle to change the title font.

When this is turned on, titles use Ovo, a contemporary serif font with a more editorial style.

When this is turned off, titles render in Geist, which is the default font.

Change the Interface Theme

Go to the Interface theme section.

In the Theme row, open the dropdown.

Choose the interface colour scheme you want to use.

Available theme options may include:

  • System preference

  • Light

  • Pure Light

  • Paper

  • Mint

  • Lavender

  • Sunrise

  • Dark

  • Classic Dark

  • Magic Blue

  • Forest

  • Sunset

  • Midnight

Your selected theme is remembered on this device.

Important Notes

  • Layout settings apply to your own profile only.

  • Changes apply instantly across the app.

  • Sidebar customisation can help remove menu items you do not use often.

  • Theme choice is remembered on your device.

  • Some sidebar items may still depend on your role permissions.

  • Hiding a sidebar item does not remove your permission to access it, but it may make the page harder to find from the sidebar.

  • The UI button uses Customize, but the setting is used to customise your personal layout.

Troubleshooting

If you cannot see the Layout tab:

  • Confirm you are in your Profile area.

  • Refresh the page and try again.

  • Ask an administrator to check whether layout customisation is available for your role.

If a sidebar item does not appear after setting it to Show:

  • Check that you have permission to access that page.

  • Refresh the app.

  • Open Customize sidebar again and confirm the item is set to Show.

If your theme does not look correct:

  • Check the selected option in the Theme dropdown.

  • Try selecting a different theme.

  • Refresh the page.

  • Check whether your browser or device is overriding display preferences.

If font size does not update:

  • Reopen the Font size dropdown and confirm the selected option.

  • Refresh the page.

  • Try changing to another size and then back again.
