Before You Start

You need access to Cora Chat to view and manage conversations.

Required permissions may include:

  • Access to Cora Chat

  • Permission to view conversations

  • Permission to create conversations

  • Permission to view group chats

  • Permission to flag or manage conversations, if enabled

If you cannot see Cora Chat or the Create button, ask an administrator to check your role permissions.

Go to Cora Chat

From the left navigation menu, click Cora Chat.

This opens the main Cora Chat Inbox.

The inbox shows your conversations and lets you start or open chats with other team members.

Review the Inbox Area

The left side of the page shows your conversation list.

At the top, you can see:

  • Inbox name

  • Number of conversations

  • Create button

  • Search field

  • Conversation tabs

Each conversation row may show:

  • Conversation name

  • Group chat icon, if it is a group conversation

  • Latest message preview

  • Latest message date or time

  • Flag indicator, if the chat is flagged

Search Conversations

Use the Search conversations field to find a chat.

You can search by conversation name or participant name.

This is helpful when you have many conversations and need to quickly find a specific chat.

Use Conversation Tabs

Cora Chat includes tabs to help organise conversations.

Available tabs shown include:

  • Inbox
    Shows your main conversations.

  • Unread
    Shows conversations with unread messages.

  • Flagged
Shows conversations you have flagged for follow-up.

  • Groups
    Shows group conversations.

Use these tabs to quickly switch between different types of chats.

Open a Conversation

Click a conversation from the inbox list to open it.

The conversation will appear in the main chat area.

If no conversation is selected, the page shows:

Select a conversation

You can either pick a chat from the inbox or click New conversation to start one.

Start a New Conversation

To start a new chat, click Create at the top of the inbox.

You can also click New conversation from the empty state when no conversation is selected.

Use this when you need to message a team member or create a new group conversation.

Review Conversation Previews

Each conversation row may show a short preview of the latest message.

This can help you understand the latest activity before opening the chat.

For example, a conversation may show:

  • The sender’s name

  • A short message preview

  • A link or attachment preview

  • “No messages yet” if the conversation has no messages

Important Notes

  • Inbox shows your main conversations.

  • Unread helps you find messages you have not opened yet.

  • Flagged helps you keep track of important conversations.

  • Groups helps you find group chats faster.

  • Use Create or New conversation to start a new chat.

  • Conversation access may depend on your role and chat membership.

Troubleshooting

If you cannot find a conversation:

  • Use the Search conversations field.

  • Check the Inbox, Unread, Flagged, and Groups tabs.

  • Confirm that you are a member of the conversation.

  • Ask an administrator if you believe you should have access.

If you cannot create a new conversation:

  • Check that you have permission to create Cora Chat conversations.

  • Refresh the page and try again.

  • Ask an administrator to review your role permissions.

If a conversation does not show new messages:

  • Open the conversation to refresh the message view.
